CHC’s Behavioral Health Services include bilingual, bi-cultural Mental Health and Recovery clinicians and Community Health Workers dedicated to providing immediate brief crisis assessment and stabilization interventions for walk-in clients as well as ongoing individual and group therapies appropriate for each client’s needs.
We offer a variety of group therapy interventions to support you in your healing journey:
• Crocheting to Relax, Fridays 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., in Room 139
• Shared Medical Group for MAT, Thursdays 11:00-12:30, Room 139

Individual therapy appointments Our Safe Haven program allows Behavioral Health/Recovery clients to use our group room 139 between scheduled formal group therapy sessions and meetings as a safe place away from home or the streets to sit, color, chat with other clients, listen to music, talk to a Community Health Worker, a Peer Recovery Coach, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or sit in silence, whatever you need on your healing journey.
Individual therapy appointments Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with Spanish, Arabic, Somali, English speaking clinicians. Walk-ins seen if possible by a Licensed Clinician, Peer Recovery Coach, CADC or Community Support Worker.
Psychiatric Medication evaluations, by appointment only, after individual is initially evaluated by a clinician are scheduled Tuesday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at 1049 Main St. Our Primary Care doctors, Physician’s Assistants and Nurse Practitioners also prescribe basic Psychiatric medications.
Medication Assisted Treatment for Recovery
Call 413-739-1100 ext. 2522 to schedule with a Community Health Worker for an MAT Intake session. You will receive details of our MAT Program and be scheduled for your first Individual Therapy session and a prescription consultation with Kathy Proulx or Dr. Grund during this Intake session.
Initial MAT medication consults by appointment with Kathy Proulx, Psychiatric NP, Thursdays 11:00-12:30 at 1049 Main St.
Mondays 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. by appointment only for initial MAT prescription consults with our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Grund at 1049 Main Street in Springfield.
MAT prescription follow up sessions Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30-4:30, Thursday 9:00-6:00 by appointment only with Debbi Strauss, MAT RN Care Manager.
Vivitrol shots are scheduled after the initial MAT consult Monday-Wednesday and Friday 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or Thursday until 5:30 at 1049 Main St., Springfield, Massachusetts.
All individuals receiving Medication Assisted Treatment are required to attend a 6 week Shared Medical Group on Thursdays 11:00-12:30 and individual therapy to achieve optimum support for their healing journey toward creating a new life.
